Something's Coming: A Cabaret Performance
Stray Dog Theatre (SDT) is producing two musicals in the 2008-09 Season. To meet and hear featured members of the casts perform songs of their own choosing, don't miss... "SOMETHING'S COMING: A CABARET PERFORMANCE. The evening includes a variety of great songs featuring cast members from upcoming shows. Musical Director David Horstman accompanies singers Jessica Bartz, Khnemu Menu-Ra, Jeffrey Pruett, Deborah Sharn, Leslie Sikes, Joel Snider, Julie Venegoni, and Jeffrey Wright. Saint Louis favorite Edward Coffield serves as emcee.

The Last Five Years
A contemporary song-cycle musical that ingeniously chronicles the five year life of a marriage, from meeting to break-up... or from break-up to meeting, depending on how you look at it. Written by Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Songs For A New World), The Last Five Years is an intensely personal look at the relationship between a writer and an actress told from both points of view.

The classic musical tale of one man’s search for the meaning of life is based on the story of Prince Pippin of France, son of King Charlemagne. Blessed with the gift of magic, the Leading Player narrates as Pippin endures trials of war, love, and politics before finding his true self among peasants far from the wealth and privilege of royalty. A campy melodrama evoking the 1960’s B-movie thrillers that featured aging cinematic icons like Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, and Lana Turner. Faded pop singer Angela Arden is trapped in a corrosive marriage to film producer Sol Sussman. In pursuit of happiness with her young unemployed T.V. star lover, Angela schemes to murder her husband. A resentful daughter, an emotionally disturbed son, and a botched acid trip eventually expose all of Angela’s dark secrets.

SDT Studio Workshop Production
Sylvia by A.R. Gurney
Greg and Kate have moved to Manhattan after 22 years in the suburbs. One day, Greg brings home a dog he has found in the park - or that has found him - bearing only the name Sylvia on her tag. Marital strife ensues after the street-smart ‘Labradoodle’ offers Greg an escape from the frustrations of middle age.

An existential thriller based on the world-famous novel. Josef K awakens one morning to find the police in his room. He is arrested and put on trial for no known crime or reason. Thus begins a strange quest for truth. Disbelieving those who seem to know more than the authorities, Josef appears doomed to accept the verdict of an untouchable Court by an invisible Law without ever understanding why.
